Hygeia Health Fair
On Sunday, May 6, 2018, the Lambda Kappa Sigma Alpha Xi Chapter held its 7th Annual Hygeia Health Fair at First Baptist Church of Stockon, CA. Our chapter invited all of the University of the Pacific Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences committees to join us in providing quality healthcare and was able to provide thorough health screenings to the residents of the Stockton community without any additional costs. Some of the screenings we offered were blood glucose, bone mineral density, blood cholesterol, and blood pressure. Residents were also able to participate in personal medication review, as well as other informational booths concerning the topics of folic acid importance, over the counter medications, risk factors of heartburn, and more.
This year, we successfully served over 200 people in our local Stockton community. Our focus was to encourage the residents of Stockton to participate in a free and easily accessible health clinic, and we hope to do so again next year!
